Baseline Assessment on Staff Satisfaction at Degahbur General Hospital, 2020

In 2020, SHAY Healthcare Consultant conducted a baseline assessment on staff satisfaction at Degahbur General Hospital to evaluate workplace conditions, morale, and organizational performance. The assessment revealed that while staff showed strong commitment to patient care and pride in serving their community, challenges such as limited resources, heavy workloads, irregular remuneration, and insufficient professional development opportunities reduced motivation. At the same time, teamwork and a shared sense of purpose were identified as key strengths. Based on these findings, SHAY Healthcare Consultant recommended practical measures including consistent resource provision, expanded training opportunities, fair incentive systems, and improved communication between management and staff, providing a solid foundation for reforms aimed at strengthening workforce satisfaction and improving healthcare service delivery.

MCH Facilities and Health Worker Knowledge and Skill Assessment for UNFPA Support Woredas in Somali Region, 2023

In 2023, an assessment of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) facilities and the knowledge and skills of health workers was conducted across UNFPA-supported woredas in the Somali Region. The study aimed to evaluate the capacity of facilities to deliver quality MCH services while also identifying strengths and gaps in the competencies of healthcare providers. Findings highlighted progress in service availability and commitment of staff, but also revealed areas needing improvement, including essential equipment, continuous professional development, and standardized clinical practices. The assessment provided evidence-based recommendations to strengthen MCH service delivery and enhance maternal and child health outcomes in the region.

Somali Regional State Service Availability and Readiness Assessment (SARA) for Sexual and Reproductive Health 2024.

In 2024, SHAY Healthcare Consultant conducted the Somali Regional State Service Availability and Readiness Assessment (SARA) for Sexual and Reproductive Health. The assessment evaluated the capacity of health facilities to provide essential reproductive health services, focusing on infrastructure, human resources, equipment, and supply availability. Findings revealed both strengths and critical gaps, offering evidence-based recommendations to improve service readiness, strengthen health systems, and ensure better access to quality sexual and reproductive healthcare across the region.

Quality Improvement Training provided to the health professionals in Degahbur General Hospital

From May 30 to June 4, 2025, SHAY Healthcare Consultant delivered a Quality Improvement Training for health professionals at Degahbur General Hospital. The training focused on enhancing clinical practices, strengthening patient care processes, and building staff capacity to apply quality improvement tools in their daily work.
